Greetings people! Hope you are doing swell. i'm a little bit late today, but then what's new. Oh well, welcome to The Jumpoff!
A-Side
We'll keep the relatively obscure show rolling with a 90s group from the good ol' bean. This is from 1991, but I really just dig the vibe on this particular track. Mostly the keyboard action that you hear the entire song, which gives it an old school soul feel; and then the sax comes in, drops the jazz, then bounces to give way to the soul. It's always cool to be able to rep the bean when possible. Check out his MySpace to see what he's up to now. Ed O.G. and the Bulldogs - I got to have it
B-Side
This next track found its way to me from a place an ocean away from here, Las-Gidi, aka Lagos, Nigeria formally. Big things is poppin' down there right now! It so happens that one of my best friends from primary (US - elementary) school is part of a hiphop collective down there that is set to drop a new album, Str8 from da Art, pretty soon. My friend, goes by the alias Teckzilla, Teck for short, is responsible for the production work on this. All together the whole crew is called Str8 Buttah. and here's the first track off their upcoming album. Str8 Buttah - The Last Stand
Check out Teck's MySpace for more on Teck and Str8 Buttah... And that's going to do it for today. Stay cool. Until next time, be easy.
