Lady Don't Tek No
Omg this is my 3rd time writing ths blog. My own technical issues I
guess. anyway..
This is day 3 of this song being played on repeat for me. I don't know what it is about this song that I love but I lllooovveee it. Anyway, these guys' roots trace back to an undergroup hip hop group formed at UC Davis. This makes me think that it's not too late for me to be a starrrrr one day
P.S. Let's see if I can embed this bad boy
oh snap! i think i did it:)

So I did some research because the track reminded me so much of Lyrics Born (Listen to Hot 2 Deff here - http://thehighlife.socialgo.com/magazine/read/daily-track-93008_41.html). Low and behold, Latyrx is a hip hop music group consisting of Lateef the Truth Speaker and Lyrics Born. Like you said, the roots of their partnership lay in the formation of the Solesides collective at the University of California, Davis.
The first time I heard about Lyrics Born was actually when I saw him live. It was totally by chance, as me and a couple of my good college friends were stumbling through the mob of music fanatics at Bonnaroo several years back. As soon as we walked by his tent (Which Tent? That Tent? This Tent? - one of those tents), his sound grabbed us, and we stayed, rocking out all the way in the back to his bouncy vibe. And the female back up singers? Fuggetabouddit! Sista's got soul! Speaking of soul, now to find some classic Soulsides!
