Piggy-backing on the previous viral marketing commercial, nothing will become more viral than a parody of an already-highly-buzzed topic. And for the past month or so that topic is: "iPad".

Props to Doritos (and their creative marketing agency) for this a quite impressive Doritos microsite and this briliant Spoof:




And if you haven't yet checked out the actual iPad, you should.

The latest issue of Beyond Race Magazine (BRM) is in stores now.  This edition's cover is graced by two artists previously featured on The HighLife, J. Cole and Boston's own Bodega Girls.  You definitely want to get this issue.  Highlights include an introduction to 50 emerging artists for the new decade, plus a glimpse into the smash Broadway hit, FELA!.  I already picked up my copy!

On 1/31 the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Boston had a screening of Award Winning Commercials from the UK. The screening was quite entertaining and showed all the way through without any... er... commercial breaks...

The one ad that had me bustin' a gut was from Volkswagen Polo - Confidence. Make sure you have your volume up when you view this commercial.

 

For those unaware of the rare quality of funk and soul in and around New England, it might be partly because you've never heard the Galactic Fractures radio show.  It's hosted by PJ Gray and broadcast Sundays 2-4pm on WMFO 91.5FM .  Whether it's PJ spinning or one of the several amazing DJ's to have graced the decks at WMFO, the quality speaks for itself.  So do the archives, dating back to 2001.  The Galactic Fractures website might be exactly what your music library is lacking.  I'll jumpoff with two sick shows from the archive. The rest is in your hands. Start digging....
