This group from Washington D.C. is made up of a number of highly talented musicians and individuals.  They DJ, produce, remix, whatever, they do it. They released an innovative, and creatively inspiring album, Radio Free DC, last year.  Which should be a part of your music collection yesterday.  Here are a few tracks that they're responsible for to give you a taste.

 

Formed in 1988 in Manchester, 808 State took their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine and the "state of mind" shared by the members. A second probable reference to this is the name of their first hit single:

808 State - Pacific State

Pretty Lights - Solamente

Santana - Singing Winds, Crying Beasts

Santigold (formally known as Santogold) performs at this incredibly scenic Sasquatch Music Festival and one guy, emersed in the moment starts something amazing.
