Boswell D. Rabbitsmith aka Steve Wright Quotes

By George

If you’re not familiar with the work of Boswell D. Rabbitsmith, he’s the famous erudite scientist who once said: “I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates.”

His mind sees things differently than most of us do, to our amazement and amusement. Here are some of his gems: (He also makes his living as a comedian by the name of Steve Wright….)

1 - I’d kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

2 - Borrow money from pessimists — they don’t expect it back.

3 - Half the people you know are below average.

4 - 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.

5 - 82.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

6 - A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.

7 - A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

8 - If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain.

9 - All those who believe in psychokinesis, raise my hand.

10 - The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

11 - I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met.

12 - OK, so what’s the speed of dark?

13 - How can you tell when you’re out of invisible ink?

14 - If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

15 - Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

16 - When everything seems to be coming your way, maybe you’re in the wrong lane.

17 - Ambition is a poor excuse for not being smart enough to be lazy.

18 - Hard work pays off in the future, laziness pays off now.

19 - I intend to live forever… so far, so good.

20 - If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

21 - Eagles may soar, but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines.

22 - What happens if you get scared half to death…twice?

23 - My mechanic told me, “I couldn’t repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.”

24 - Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?

25 - If at first you don’t succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

26 - A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

27 - Experience is something you don’t get until just after you need it.

28 - The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread.

29 - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.

30 - The sooner you fall behind, the more time you’ll have to catch up.

32 - Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don’t have film.

33 - If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?

The Jumpoff 12.02.08

By Afolabi

What it is, what it is! It's been a bit.  Time has been quite scarce lately, and i really should probably be doing something else right now, but this is only going to take a moment.  I just got back from seeing the fam, and am now fully reloaded with a fresh batch of cheesiness.  Welcome to The Jumpoff!

A-Side

This is from 2006.  I posted a video with these two in it a little over a month ago, not too sure on that, i didn't check.  But anyway, that video was from Fiona Apple.  She returns the favor on this humurous, yet highly danceable track. Come up and get it... Zach Galifianakis & Fiona Apple - Up in them guts

B-Side

So i'm going to take you back to the age of the boy band right now.  I kinda always like the melody of this song; the lyrics, not so much.  I mean it's not like i really expected them to win any songwriting contests.  But i heard it again over the weekend, and all i can say is that i cannot believe that kids were listening to this.  If only they were paying attention, or maybe, i was just the only one not hearing what they were saying. Oh well, here's a chance to revisit some high school memories (good or bad).  O-Town - We fit together

Alright then peoples, catch you on the flip side.  I gotta run! Until next time, be easy.

The Jumpoff 11.19.08

By Afolabi

Hump day people! I've got some oldies but goodies today.  Hope you like.  Welcome to The Jumpoff!

A-Side
I can't really remember when i came across this next group.  There was a period when i was on a mission to hunt down as many random ska bands as i could find, and these guys are one of the bands that stuck out to me as note-worthy.  They've covered a lot of other bands, but then on the flip side they've been covered a bunch too.  Look them up, you might find a song you know that you didn't realize they did.  I like this particular one though because it gives off the vibe of going somewhere far far away (not where shrek lives), but just away.  Maybe it's the introduction that gives it away, i don't know.  The Specials - International Jet Set

B-Side

I was introduced to the music of this group by a good friend of mine, Jeremy, a couple of years ago.  I'd never really listened to them before that, and to be honest, i really still don't listen to them much.  Partly because they haven't released a new album for a while.  Anyhow, this song is from their 2001 album, SouljackerThe Eels - That's not really funny

And that will do it for today.  Hope your hump day treats you well.  Until next time, be easy.
