Dire Straits & Chromeo Similarities

By George
Seeing any similarity? In the videos, certainly. But there's even some likeness in their sound, isn't there?

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

Chromeo - Bonafied Lovin

As someone from KOVideo.com put it, "Chromeo's blocky animated characters are rendered more crisply and of course there's a lot more sex and no sign of Sting. That's the way you do it."

Crystal Castles | Untrust Us | Video

Such a msmorizing track by Crystal Castles. I don't care what people say about their stage presence - talent is heard and felt through the music.

Phoenix - mon nom est l'âme

By George

Phoenix is a French alternative rock band started during their childhood by Thomas Mars, Deck D'Arcy, Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Brancowitz in the semi-affluent suburb of Versailles, in the same culture that produced late-90s bands such as Air and Daft Punk.

The name Phoenix was officially chosen in 1996 when Laurent Brancowitz permanently joined the band after the end of the short-lived band Darlin' he formed withThomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, who eventually became Daft Punk.

Alice In Wonderland Remix

By George

This groovy Alice in Wonderland remix beat is made with 90% actual sound clips from the Alice in Wonderland movie. Just wish it was longer.

If you like what you heard, and you're wondering where you can hear the full version of the song, check out Pogo's Last.fm page here: http://www.last.fm/music/Pogo. The song is titled Alice.

Christmas Can [Still] Change the World

By George

I love the message in this video. I cannot agree more with the obsurdity of modern "XMAS USA". It is nauseatingly sad. Let's get down to basics.

Taken from AdventConsipiracy.org:

"The story of Christ's birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love.

So, what happened? What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a savior has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists.

And when it's all over, many of us are left with presents to return, looming debt that will take months to pay off, and this empty feeling of missed purpose. Is this what we really want out of Christmas?

What if Christmas became a world-changing event again?"
